About Karen
Born in Berlin, Karen grew up in Germany and holds a degree in Psychology. She worked for over 10 years as a specialized Clinical Neuropsychologist in Neurological Rehabilitation. She also worked on a European clinical research project in London (UK).
After recovering from life-threatening injuries sustained in a road accident, she embarked upon a new career path inspired by the discoveries made on her own healing journey.
In 2005 Karen traveled to Chiangmai, Thailand to study Nuad Boran (Thai Yoga Massage) following the lineage of Asokananda. She practiced Nuad Boran and continued her advanced training in Cologne, Germany for the next two years.
In 2007 Karen became an Certified Thai Therapist (RTT) with the Thai Healing Alliance International with more than 350 hours of advanced training. Since then she lives and practices in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Karen strongly believes in yoga, meditation, proper nutrition and the holistic form of Thai bodywork to be the source of well-being and restoration of healthy functioning. She appreciates the body as the vehicle for change!
Karen sincerely supports the integration of Western and Eastern approaches to healing building a bridge between both worlds in her practice. Karen grew up embedded in Christianity and opened her heart to the wisdom and teachings of Buddhism. She trusts in the all-embracing universal source of life that overcomes all boundaries of race or religion.
Karen is married and thoroughly enjoys family life. She has great passion for the spirit of the horse and loves to ride in the Sonoran Desert at sunset. But music was her first love! She likes singing, dancing and playing the guitar and piano.
